Community Involvement
In August 2014, the local management team of McMillin Homes acquired the South Texas land development and homebuilding operations from its parent company in San Diego, California. This strategic move led to the birth of McMillin Texas Homes, marking a new chapter rooted in local leadership and vision. Four years later, in April 2018, the company embraced a bold rebranding, shedding the McMillin name to become Texas Homes—a name that proudly reflects its identity and values: "Texas Built, Texas Owned, Texas Proud."
Texas Homes has since become more than just a builder of houses; it has emerged as a cornerstone of the San Antonio community. Deeply grateful for the support and trust of local residents, the company actively gives back through partnerships with organizations that serve military families, educators, police, fire, medical personnel, and other first responders. Among its most impactful contributions is its longstanding sponsorship of the San Antonio Food Bank’s “Million Summer Meals for Kids” program. This initiative addresses a critical need by providing nutritious meals to children across Southwest Texas during the summer months, when access to school-based meal programs is unavailable.
Through this partnership, Texas Homes helps combat childhood hunger in its own backyard, rallying alongside KENS 5 and other local sponsors to collect food and monetary donations. Their efforts have touched thousands of families, reinforcing the belief that a well-fed child is better equipped for a bright and healthy future. This commitment to community welfare exemplifies the company’s ethos—transforming business success into meaningful, tangible support for those who need it most. Texas Homes continues to build not only homes, but hope, standing as a proud testament to the power of local values and compassionate leadership.
