  • Institute of Texan Cultures – The Institute of Texan Cultures is San Antonio's cultural experience museum, dedicated to enhancing the understanding of cultural history and its influence upon the people of Texas. The museum develops exhibits, programs, and special events that encourage acceptance and appreciation of our differences as well as our common humanity. The museum strives to provide a forum for diversity and a showcase for the dynamics of cultural history.
  • The McNay Art Museum – This free art museum is home to an ever-growing collection of 19th- and 20th-century European and American paintings and sculpture by significant artists ranging from Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, Auguste Rodin, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso, to Edward Hopper,  Georgia O’Keeffe, John Sloan, and Marsden Hartley. Family-friendly activities are scheduled each month.
  • San Antonio Botanical Garden – The San Antonio Botanical Garden is a 33-acre oasis dedicated to connecting people and plants through education, experiences, and research. Special events include Gardens by Moonlight, children’s camps, Shakespeare in the Park, Concert Under the Stars, BOOtanica plus countless plant sales, educational opportunities and specially themed days.
  • San Antonio Children’s Museum – Designed for the young – and the young at heart- the Children’s Museum features great hands-on exhibits and learning opportunities. Where else can you operate a front-loader, sit in the airplane’s pilot seat, tend to the bank or see how your skeleton moves as you ride a bike?
  • San Antonio Museum of Art – Housed in part of the old Lone Star Brewery complex, the SAMA is home to numerous permanent exhibits, including the 30,000-square-foot wing dedicated to Latin American art and the largest center for Asian arts in the southern United States.
  • San Antonio Symphony – The Symphony is under the direction of Larry Rachliff and highlights include guest conductors, special musicians, and even neighborhood concerts
  • Witte Museum – The Witte is located in the heart of San Antonio and highlights the area’s history, culture, and natural science.  Nestled in Brackenridge Park on the banks of the San Antonio River, the Witte includes several galleries, dinosaur skeletons, hands-on experiences, and traveling exhibits.

  • The Buckhorn Saloon & Museum - The Buckhorn has been in continuous operation since 1881 and features the famous “Hall of Horns,” as well as special exhibits and even a Texas history wax museum.
  • Retama Park – Retama Park offers live thoroughbred racing plus daily simulcasting. The track features 50-cent nights that include activities for the whole family.
  • Rio San Antonio Cruises – Take a trip down the San Antonio River Walk in style aboard a Rio San Antonio barge. Learn about local history, take in the beautiful sites or hop on to take a trip from one part of the River Walk to another. You can even host a private party aboard a river barge.
  • River Walk – The heart of San Antonio is definitely the River Walk! The banks of the San Antonio River wind through downtown and provide some of the most gorgeous – and delicious! – dining opportunities in town.
  • San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo– Once a year, the cowboys and cowgirls take over the AT&T Center grounds. You don’t want to miss one of the most exciting indoor rodeos in the country!.
  • San Antonio Zoo – Where can you step into a butterfly garden, a tropical rainforest and an underwater playground? The San Antonio Zoo, of course! Feed the lories, learn all about butterflies and explore other hands-on exhibits.
  • Sea World – Sea World is recognized as the leader in all things aquatic. Be sure to make plans to be part of feeding times, request to meet an animal trainer in person or dine with Shamu!
  • Six Flags Fiesta Texas – This adventure park has everything and more! Splash down in the Texas-shaped wave pool or ride on one of the thrilling coasters or just take in a show under the stars.
  • Splashtown – Splashtown San Antonio features 20 acres of water fun for all ages, including special areas just for the little ones.
